Competitive 420 Boathandling

Competitive 420 Boathandling focuses on both the highly competitive Collegiate and the Club versions of the 420, which are used to train the top young talent in the around the world at the high school and collegiate level. Both versions of the boat are a two-person combination of crew that stresses the aggressive use of weight in all aspects of manipulating the boat.

The instructional content covers the use of weight and sails in every aspect of boathandling both hiking from straps inside the boat as well as using the trapeze and spinnaker of the Club 420. Chapters include: Control, Tacking, Gybing, Windward Marks, Leeward Marks and a special chapter on the Club 420 to focus more closely on the trapeze and spinnaker technique.
